It’s an ideal destination for families looking for a well-rounded and memorable vacation. Luckily, Costa Rica has a few Hyatt’s that can really make this vacation a budget trip for your whole family.
First, Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa is located near La Fortuna in the Arenal region of Costa Rica. This resort is located 3 -4 hours from both major airports, San Jose and Liberia. Tabacon is renowned for its luxurious accommodations and its unique integration with natural hot springs in the heart of the Arenal Volcano region. Nestled amidst lush tropical rainforests, the rooms provide breathtaking views of the volcano and the surrounding gardens. The highlight of Tabacon Resort is its world-famous hot springs, fed by mineral-rich thermal waters originating from the Arenal Volcano. Be warned though, you may not go under water in these hot springs as noted at the hotel, for fear of Meningitus. Our 6 year old is part mermaid and could not help herself from dunking, and it made for a very stressful experience. There are lots of off site activites from this resort, so you can easily make this your home base for 5-6 days.

Second, Andaz Resort Peninsula Papagayo is a luxury resort nestled on the Pacific Coastline. Its a very quick drive from Liberia Airport, and you can arrange a shuttle through the hotel is you don’t want to rent a car. The property often provides a variety of recreational activities, including water sports, nature excursions, and access to nearby beaches. The resort's spa and wellness facilities offer a sanctuary for relaxation and rejuvenation, allowing guests to unwind amidst the natural beauty of Costa Rica. There is also a kids club, which my kids went to for a couple hours a day. There they play with toys and made some art. The staff was extremely friendly! This is a pretty isolated location and I would only recommend staying for a few days.
