Getting to London is pretty easy! Several airlines operate flights from the USA to London, offering a variety of options for travelers. Major carriers such as Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines provide frequent and direct routes connecting major cities in the United States, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and more, to London's primary airports like Heathrow and Gatwick. Read below on how to save points and money for flights for your family:
Virgin Atlantic offers "companion tickets" through their loyalty program, called Flying Club. You can check award availability on their Reward Seat Finder. Once you determine there are enough award seats available for points in the class you desire, you can call Virgin Atlantic and purchase a companion seat for 50% off the points price. The ticket will have to be on Virgin Atlantic metal, not a partner airline. You will need to pay for the taxes and fees, which are hefty, however; this is a great way to save points.
British Airways offers a discount for Off-Peak flights, by reducing taxes and fee’s. The one caveat is, you have to have earned Avios in the past year. You can visit Avios for Thoughts and take a quick survey to earn Avios which ill instantly give you access to this discount. For instance, it will take a Business Class seat’s taxes from $900 to $350! Which is a great savings when traveling with the kids in tow.
You can purchase transatlantic Jetblue Flights via Qatar Airways. From the East Coast,Mint class goes for 78,000 Avios and Economy goes for 25,000 Avios. It is more than half the points than purchasing from the official Jetblue site.
